Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) was introduced by the late Gregg K. Hobbs who has been a great advisor to Resysnet. He provided many years of guidance and support so that fundamental theories of HALT can be used on maximizing hardware reliability of Telecommunications and Networking products. Resysnet has been performing HALT for more than 15 years and understands the differences between failures found from overstress and true hardware failures from environmental excitation. The battle with Engineering has been solved by using a more conservative approach to HALT and understanding the true fundamental limits of technology. Custom silicon, thermal management, and other design considerations must be understood prior to desiging a HALT test plan and developing the diagnostic activities required for adequate coverage.
